This afternoon Emma and I focused on the letter 'b' and butterflies. We made a butterfly by drawing around her hands, cutting out the shapes and then stapling the thumbs together. She then decorated it with stickers. We coloured in a butterfly picture together and worked on writing the letter b. Then I read her 'The Very Hungry Caterpillar' by Eric Carle, which, not meaning to spoil the ending, has a butterfly in it! All of which was a pleasant way of passing the time between doing the lunch dishes and going to collect Tom and Lily from school.
Decorating her butterfly with stickers, whilst wearing a fairy costume obviously!
Serious business this crafting!
Emma decided to to do her colouring in the conservatory because "it's nice and warm."
A pleasant way to spend an afternoon. I was quite impressed with Emma's 'b'. This was the first time I have done any letter tracing with her and she loved it. I had to print out several sheets so she could do it again and again!.
