Debut

Podling number 3 makes his/her debut on the blog (head on the left)

It's official, there's only one baby in there!

I had my dating scan today, so Mark and I got to see the baby for the first time. Being a dating scan, it was all over quickly, but it was enough to see that there was a beating heart and the required number of arms and legs! We even got to see the little feet kicking. I didn't get scanned until 20 weeks with Tom and Lily, so I really enjoyed being able to see this little one so early (I'm 15 weeks today). I can feel the baby moving around, but somehow it seems to make it so much more real when you actually see that baby on the screen.

We showed the Podlings the picture when we got home and told them it was a picture of the baby in Mummy's tummy. Tom gave it a brief glance and promptly lost interest, probably wondering why everyone was calling that grey blob a baby! Lily, on the other hand, was completely obsessed with the photo and was asking to see the "Baby Tummy Picsher" almost constantly until lunchtime. Lily is much more interested in the baby than Tom. When we told them that Mummy has a baby in her tummy, Tom laughed and gave us a look as if to say "Go on, pull the other one!" Lily is really taken with the idea and, after seeing the scan picture today, told me "I wish I had a baby in my tummy."

The scan put my official due date back a day to the 10th of July, which won't make a blind bit of difference to the actual birth day! My babies don't pay any attention to their due dates, so I just use it as a rough guide. My next and final scan (the foetal anomaly scan) will be in about six weeks and will give us a better indication as to the health of the baby. For now, everything looks great.

What a difference a month or so makes - your scan really looks like a baby (more like my 20 week scan - the dating scan for Simon at 11ish weeks was one of those where you really have to try hard to see the baby, although we did see him move which was great)

Glad to see Lily is so happy, and I am sure Tom will become more excited as time goes on. He's probably just thinking "been there, done that"!

Maybe Tom remembers the whole 'new baby sibling' experience too well!

I can't stop looking at my third grandchild, actually seeing a picture of her/him has made me even more excited. Hope the tiredness goes away soon.

Glad everything is okay, Tom is a male even this young with a 'yeah okay' and no excitement what so ever, Lily as a female can relate right away, not sure about wishing she had one in her tummy just yet though!!! Bit late with my response been home sick and Jodie is constantly on my laptop (facebook) since I gave her the password, still stops her getting bored while she is waiting.
