My latest addiction...


Homemade blackberry jam! I made jam with some of the blackberries I gathered at the weekend and now I'm addicted to the stuff. My tea this evening consisted of two slices of bread smothered in blackberry jam and butter. It is just so delicious and far superior to shop bought jam. Our local blackberry bushes are going to take a real hammering this autumn as I try to gather enough fruit to keep feeding this habit!

Mmm, looks delicious all that is missing is the clotted cream. You could freeze the berries but they probably won't be any good for jam (they may be water logged)just puddings.

Clotted cream...there's an idea. Think I'll have to make some scones!

You've started something here! J was out on the bike last week and spotted a load of blackberries so we went out collecting today and I now have just under 4lb for jam, crumble and muffins! There were loads not quite ripe on the bushes so we may be out there again next week.
